Gibson Names Good Old War Top 5 To Watch

Gibson Names Top 5 Artists to Watch

Philadelphia’s Good Old War may feature members of the now defunct pop-punk band Days Away, but there’s nothing mosh-worthy about the band’s debut Only Way To Be Alone. Although the band initially gained some notoriety by backing Circa Survive frontman Anthony Green on his solo debut, the band’s songs stand on their own via gorgeous harmonies, impressive arrangements and acoustic instrumentation that makes these tracks not only catchy but timeless. In fact, it’s difficult to believe that songs like “Weak Man” aren’t long lost Neil Young B-sides — and amazingly the band pulls off all of these musical subtleties live, too. There’s nothing trendy about Good Old War’s brand of folk rock, and that’s damn refreshing because once the flat-ironed hair and girl-jean-wearing sect dwindle away, this band will still be standing strong.
